MOU - Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, Brunei (UNISSA)

UMK is an established University which strives to enhance and strengthen its internationalization linkage and has taken various initiatives to compliment its educational excellence. UMK has entered into various collaborative arrangements with other parties to enhance its academic and research activities.

UNISSA was established as a second university in Brunei Darussalam that was first addressed by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in his Titah delivered at University of Brunei Darussalam’s 16th convocation in 2004 and again in 2005 at UBD’s 17th convocation whereby His Majesty had stated that the second university shall be an Islamic university. The overall aim of the university is to become an Islamic Higher Education Hub in Asia. Collaboration with other parties is a significance moves for UNISSA to enhance the quality in academic and research programmes.

These two universities endeavour to take necessary steps to encourage and promote cooperation in the following areas:

1. Exchange of student and staff activity;
2. Collaboration in research and development (R&D) as well as consultancy;
3. Collaboration in research-based Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes;
4. Information exchange and sharing facilities; and
5. Co-organising of exhibitions, lecturers, conference, seminars and workshops.
